Sunday Morning Ride

I do almost all of my training either by myself or with my partner Natalie. So group rides are few & far between. Yesterday saw Natalie & I meet up with a few Ord Minett & QSM riders. All great people to ride with. A majority of the peloton were in Velo.net.au kit!
I have a new job! I now work for Ay Up Lighting Systems. Great location, great team, awesome product. Now I just have to work out if some part of my financial expenses for 24hr races are tax deductable ;o)

Forced Rest

Last Sunday I took the 45min drive north of Brisbane to "The Big Kart Track" near Australia Zoo. Why? because the Sunshine Coast Cycling Club (SCCC) have secured a 12 month deal to use the track for Criterium racing!

The course is awesome. Lots of corners, slightly rise to the finish, plenty of parking & the cafe is open shortly after we get there.
Young (not yet 15yrs) Nick Schultz was the top place getter on the day. He worked hard, continually attacked & took the points & the money. Nice work Nick. Now just get bigger so we can draft of you.
Where does the forced rest come in? well I made a silly mistake & clipped my pedal on a fast, sweeping corner. Next thing I am sliding, sliding... along on my side.

A few injuries, minor repairs needed on my bike & I shreaded my Velo jersy & nix.
I am keen to get down to Nundah for the Hamilton Pine Rivers Wheelers regular Saturday morning criterium racing tomorrow.
Until next time, remember there are only good reasons for being here.

Biddon Fuel

For many months leading up to the croc I spent just as much time cycling as I did working on my nutrition plan for the race. I was fortunate to come across Infinit Nutrition.
I have been able to adjust the amount of calories/carbs/protein/electrolytes...etc for each biddon until my stomach & legs were happy.

The stuff tastes great. I used it in almost every biddon on every day of the the croc trophy. Cramping was never an issue either. Not even a twinge! At the end of a long training week I used to get cramps in my calves when in bed in the early hours of the morning. Since switching to Infinit Nutrition this has disappeared.

So you are aware, Infinit Nutrition is not a sponsor. Peter gave me a discount due to the large order I placed for the croc.
Should you have your cycling nutrition sorted out stick with it, should you not have it sorted, Peter is very helpful on the email & phone. Contact him, have a chin wag & sort it out.
Happy cycling.

Registration day

Well, rego was 2 weeks ago. More than just showing up & getting your race number goes on at the rego. We saw Naomi Hansen slip into Dream Team racing kit, we met Darren O'Grady & Craig Gordon.

Considering myself an endurance cyclist, I am a huge fan of Craig Gordon. Subsequently, to meet the guy on registration day & have a conversation with him really made my day.

One more sleep & guess what???... RACE DAY!

Race day everyday for 10 days. That is just awesome!
